Social Anxiety

Social anxiety (sometimes called a social Phobia) is a very  common emotional problem. Many people, at some point, are nervous about humiliating or embarrassing themselves in situations that involve some kind of performance or the risk of being judged by other people.The difference between Social Anxiety and Normal Apprehension of social situations is that Social Anxiety involves an intense feeling of fear in social situations and especially situations that are unfamiliar or in which you will be watched or evaluated by others.

There are two main types of Social Anxiety

1) Specific type, where the anxiety only relates to particular types of people or situations, and not others.

2) Generalized type, where the anxiety relates to more or less any interpersonal situation.

Treatment of social anxiety through a combination of Hypnotherapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy has the capacity to produce long-lasting, permanent relief from the anxiety-laden world of social anxiety.

Social Anxiety responds to short-term therapy. I have seen many clients make significant progress in just a few sessions. Without therapy, social anxiety can be a torturous and horrible emotional problem; with therapy, clients develop a calm and positive attitude and live lives free from worry and anxiety.
